Davison-Byman Weight Loss Challenge
Here we go:
The Rules:
1) We are goal oriented. While there will be a money pot, we want everyone to achieve their goal. You must also set a consequence for yourself, if you do not achieve your goal. These will be posted to a blog site (http://loseforspring.blogspot.com/) along with your initials (More peer pressure motivation for you to meet your goal!)
· Example of a goal: Allison wants to lose 12 lbs. If she does not lose
12 lbs and keep it off the entire 12 weeks, she will have to take her picture
in a bathing suit and post it on the Byman Family Blog. (I am happy to post
pictures of others on my blog if you want that as a consequence of not meeting
your goal!)
2) We will work on the +/- system. You will only need to disclose your actual starting weight once, to Allison, who is sworn to secrecy. Or you can submit to me in a sealed envelope and I won't look until we do the calculations at the end. On the blog, you will only report what you have gained or lost.
3) Each Friday you must post your +/- number as a comment to the weekly blog section.
4) If you gain weight in a week you have to pay $5 in to the group. It sweetens the pot!
5) We will determine the winner on a percentage basis (this is why we need the starting weight)
- The person who loses the highest percentage wins 70% of the pot. The second highest percentage wins 20%. Third and Fourth place will each win 5%.
6) We will circulate all participant email addresses and will expect good hearted motivation by all!
7) $50 buy in to the challenge.
8) The challenge will last 12 weeks. Starts Saturday November 1. Ends January 16. Can be extended by unanimous vote.
To Start:
Email your goal and consequence along with starting weight (she
swears she won't even look at it) to Allison. Also, snail mail her your check
for the initial buy in. We know you won’t, but if you gain, you will need to
settle up with your $5 increments at the end of the challenge.
